Call for Next Talking Points Editors—Deadline: July 1
The Literacies and Languages for All (LLA) Board is seeking the next editorial team for Talking Points, to begin with the October 2025 issue. Talking Points is published semiannually (October and May) by NCTE for Literacies and Languages for All (LLA) The journal offers classroom teachers, researchers, school administrators, and parents current literacy research and classroom examples of whole language practices in action. Regular columns also communicate the activity of local professional learning communities and resources of interest to holistic educators.

 

Editors work closely with NCTE personnel and with the LLA Board to ensure that Talking Points meets the readers’ current needs and interests. The editors’ duties include setting themes for issues, soliciting manuscripts, assembling and working with a review board, providing timely feedback and revision support to authors, determining the contents of each issue, and submitting materials to NCTE by publication deadlines. New editors will be invited to work with the current editorial team for the production of the May 2025 issue to support a smooth transition between editorial teams.

 

Applications for the editorship should include applicants’ names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, a brief statement of vision for the journal, examples of previous editorial work, a description of institutional support for the editorship (if any), and brief CVs. Deadline for applications is July 1, 2024.
Applications should be submitted in PDF form via email. Please include the words “Talking Points editor application” in the subject line of your message.
