Background

Each year the NCTE passes a number of resolutions. For many of the members, including participants on Resolutions Committees, there is no way of knowing what has happened to the resolutions of the previous year. NCTE members often express doubt about the efficacy of formal resolutions and fear that much energy is expended on them with little result. Actually, there may be reason to believe that more success follows a resolution than some members may realize. Be it therefore

Resolution

Resolved, that every year during the Annual Business Meeting, the Executive Secretary of the NCTE report on the state of the resolutions passed at the preceding Annual Business Meeting—their dissemination, implementation, and any known results.
