2004 NCTE Annual Business Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana
In the face of widespread overuse and abuse of part-time faculty, in 1989 the Conference on College Composition and Communication adopted a set of principles and standards regarding the appropriate use of part-time, adjunct faculty in writing instruction.
In 1997, NCTE adopted a resolution “On Affirming Labor Equity for Adjunct Teachers and Graduate Employees,” calling on policymakers to redress widespread inequities in compensation for educational workers.
