Call for Nominations for NCTE Offices
Nominations for the 2020 NCTE Ballot will open in September.
Below is the list of candidates needed for the 2019 ballot.
The ballot mailed in April 2019 and results were announced in June of 2019.
Vice President — two candidates drawn from the Secondary Section (Section means voting section, regardless of teaching level); one to be elected
Elementary Representative-at-Large — two candidates who must be classroom teachers (PreK-5) at the time of nomination; members of the Elementary Section; one to be elected
Middle Level Representative-at-Large — two candidates who must be classroom teachers (grades 5-9) at the time of nomination; members of the Middle Level Section; one to be elected
Trustees of the Research Foundation — six candidates who must be voting members of NCTE; three to be elected
NCTE Nominating Committee for 2019-20 — three candidates (members of appropriate NCTE Sections) from each of the following regions, one to be elected from each region:
Group A: Canada, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont (members of the College Section)
Group B: Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington (members of the Secondary Section)
Group C: Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia (members of the Elementary Section)
Group D: Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Wyoming (members of the Middle Level Section)
Group E: Alabama, Arkansas, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virgin Islands, Virginia (members of the Elementary Section)

IT IS IMPORTANT to submit nominations by November 1, 2018, but nominations will also be accepted at the NCTE Annual Convention in Houston.
Nominations can be submitted onsite during:
- The Annual Business/Board of Directors Meeting on Friday, November 16, 2018, 5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m., Convention Center/Grand Ballroom C
- The open sessions of the Nominating Committees’ meetings on Saturday, November 17, 2018, 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m., Convention Center/Room 310 A/B/C
- The open sessions of the Nominating Committees’ meetings on Sunday, November 18, 2019, 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m., Convention Center/Room 332 A/B/C
NOTE: Most nominating committees contact only those individuals who will be formally invited to run for office. Results of the NCTE Nominating Committee’s deliberations are announced in the March Council Chronicle and on the NCTE website. If you wish to notify your nominees before then, you can get the final slate of candidates by contacting email@example.com after February 1, 2019.

Complete the nomination form and return it (with a resume) by November 1, 2018, to the NCTE Elections Office (1111 W. Kenyon Road, Urbana, IL 61801; fax: 217-278-3761).
