What’s Your State Doing about Literacy?

informedpublicAll signs suggest that the new version of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) will push more of the onus for decision making around education issues back onto the states. That means, if you don’t know this already, now is a good time to brush up on what your state is up to.

  • Did you know you can track the education bills filed in your state and federal government?
  • Better yet, tune in to your state NCTE policy analysts’ posts. We have volunteers from nearly every state who research what’s going on locally and regularly post synopses of issues that are important in their states.
  • Sign up to receive emails or press releases from your governor, your federal and state representatives, and elected leaders on your county, city, and school boards.
